Schoolhouse Saturday-Week 1

I had such a great post here and managed to delete it.  Awesome.

Oh well, it was just a brief (for me) synopsis of my educational career, a reminder that if you aren’t a teacher you just don’t know what it’s like.  I mean that in a respectful way-I’m not a parent, I don’t know what that’s like, and I can imagine it all I want, but until (if) I am in that situation, it’s just hard to explain.

It’s the best and worst career ever.  Those who can do, do teach.  No I’m not performing brain surgery, but you know what, the person who is was TAUGHT how to by a teacher. I’ve taught doctors, lawyers, other teachers, business professionals, ministers, professional counselors, professional athletes, and stay at home moms.  And I couldn’t be happier for them or prouder of them and their choices.

In future posts I plan on covering some topics listed below, but I would love to hear any ideas that you might have or any questions.

Colleges that people may not have heard about–not to knock well known colleges, but just because are good at football, and you can buy their shirt at Academy doesn’t mean it will be a good fit for your kid.

Lawnmower parenting. It’s new. It’s real, and it’s absolutely hurting kids and paralyzing teachers.

Standardized testing.  Please do not give me a platform–oh wait, I have one.

Just a few for the future…would love to hear from you!!

Next time, try typing your post in Word first, so if it gets deleted, you’ll only have to copy it in again. This would also allow you to create a bunch of posts all at once, if you get inspired. 🙂 Good luck with your blog!
